Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

I paid my Pastor $6000.00 cash in March 2009 to put in a driveway, double carport ,extend the deck, and put underpinning on the front of my house. He put in the driveway and left my deck a eye sore as of this date. I have gotten one excuse after another from him. I didn't get a receipt from him. Can I take him to court or have the statue of limitation ran out? We are asking that he give us $3000.00 of our money back.

First, you should have gotten your agreement down on paper. Nevertheless, you apparently have a verbal contract and you will probably have to take him to JP Court to get the matter straigtened out. State of Limitations on a contract action in Texas is 4 years. However, I would get after it immediately.
