Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Question - Employment Law

I worked for a company for 8 months and have a two fold question:

1) They are trying to get 1100.00 from me for vacation and sick time reimbursement for ''time'' that I didn't earn. I was a salary employee who worked on the days that I was not in the office ''sick'', and was expected to commence business as usual and did as such. I received phone calls and emails during the time I was home and was expected to take those calls and emails. Do I have any recourse to fight this claim that they are trying to get this money? They did have a policy that they could ask for reimbursement should you terminate employement and have outstanding vacation and sick time however I am disputing that they should have not docked the time because I was working from home.

Second question - part of my compensation package when I accepted the job was a bonus program of up to $9600.00 that never came to be. It was a verbal offer, when they offered me the job by executive management. Is this a valid contract and could I pursue this angle in order to get the first issue resovled should I have no standing on the first issue. They basically promised me bonuses that they never paid me.

Thank you.
