Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Last Resort

I loan someone who I thougt was a friend. We did work together before. She called and asked if she could borrow $430.00. I told her I had that saved for my property taxes htat are now due. I have emails , voicemail messages asking when I'm going to get paid. She has been avoiding me. Not returning calls, emails etc. I even went to her home and she didn't answer the door knowing I was there. Is there anything I can do to get her to respond, let alone get me my money back? The initial agreement was verbal. But I do have emails showing she acknowledges that she owes me the money. Please help!!!

Re: Last Resort

Sounds like an issue for small claims court, where you can represent yourself. You can find more information by going to your county website and searching for courts.

Re: Last Resort

You're going to have to sue her in Small Claims. Collection will be the problem.
