Small Claims Court Action/

Am I responsible for the death of my room-mates lizard? When I moved in I was never told that I would have to watch this persons lizard, I was told that the lizard goes in and out a bedroom window and gets on the roof, I was never told I would have to get the lizard off the roof. The lizard died and now I am being taken to small claims court. I never signed a contrat on anything. No rental agreement or nothing.

No negligence -- no agreement to take care of a lizard -- no liability.

Perhaps a counter-claim is is order to seek recovery for the lizard's share of rent.

This is a good one. You should have the judge rolling in stitches.
