Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

What is the statute of limitation for a potential civil action against someone convicted of a child molestation crime. The perpetrator was convicted and is currently in state prison. The question is this: what is the statute of limations against civil action by the parents or at some later date, by the victims, for monetary damages. This crime occured in the state of Texas and the offender, imprisoned since 2003, has received a hefty sum of money from his late father's estate. Is this money subject to civil suit by the victims of the crime?

The limitations period is tolled until the victim turns 18. Yes, the offender's inheritance is subject to a suit by the victim. If you'd like to consider hiring me to handle this matter, email [email protected] or call 713 527 9190.
