Stolen Computer

A computer was stolen from my brother and we know who stole it and would like to know legally how to get it back. This person will lie and pretend he no longer has it. My brother has receipts for the computer. What would be our best course of action?

Call the police/sheriff and fill out a stolen property report. Stealing is a crime and he can be prosecuted for a misdemeanor or a felong depending upon the value of the computer.
