Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas
I need to subpoena phone records, and I've been told to get a lawyer to do so. I have the subpoena in my hand and the questions are straight forword. Why can't I file myself ?

In Texas, subpoenas may be issued only by the court clerk, an attorney, or a deposition officer. Tex. R. Civ. P. 176.4 Unless you fall into one of these three categories, you cannot issue the subpoena for telephone records on your own.
