Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

verbal harassment

I am being verbally harassed by a coworker. We both work at a hospital but are not emplyees. We are independent contractors with the hospital. Even though i have warned him to stop he just continues. the nature of the harassment is mostly humiliation and putdowns as well as embarassment and sexual issues as well. do i have any legal recourse through the hospital adminintration or do i need to hire my own lawyer to handle this?

Re: verbal harassment

The hospital should have a policy to prevent sexual harassment for people whom they employ. I recognize that you are not employee, but you are contracted by the hospital and entitled to protection from sexual harassment. Putdowns and insults unless of a sexual nature are not included. You should complain to the hospital and if they take no action, consult an attorney.
