Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas
Verbal or Oral Agreement
In the state of Texas, does a verbal or oral agreement hold the same validity as a written agreement. At our place of employment, we were faced with having to move to a different station in the city. We were assured that we would keep our present position and keep our present route assignments if we made the move. Now, some sixteen months later, some of us have had our routes simply taken away from us. Not because of disciplinary problems etc, but simply for the ''needs of the station''. This is a short explanation, but I would appreciate a reply.

Re: Verbal or Oral Agreement
A verbal agreement, with certain specific exceptions, is as enforeceable as a written agreement. The problem usually lies in the proving up the elements of the contract.
