Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Victim Rights being ignored!

In April of '99 my husband and I were buglarized and our car was stolen. The defendant was scheduled for trial in April of '00. My husband received a call in subpena. I called the investigtor before the trial. He told me that the DA wouldn't speak to us until about 1 hour before the trial. The day of trial my husband called in as instructed by the subpena. No one ever called us back. One week later we recieve a letter that the defendant had been given probabtion and ordered to pay restitution $5/mo for 80 months. I have been trying for over 2 months to contact the DA to find out what happend. No one returns phone calls or letter. Is there anything legaly we can do?

Re: Victim Rights being ignored!

Go to the Clerk of Court's office in the courthouse, ask to see the court file, read it and find out what the judge did.
