Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Wage Garnishment

A situation in Colorado where I used to live was that I voluntarily repo'd a car and the car was sold at an auction and there was still a remaining balance that never got paid. I now live in Texas and have for the past 7 years. I just received a letter from my job that my wages are being garnished for the balance because of a judgement they received from a law firm in Colorado. Is it legal for them to garnish my wages now that I live in Texas?

Re: Wage Garnishment

They can garnish your CO wages, but if you are working for a TX company, no.
