wrongful death of a pet

I recently took my dog to the vet due to illness. I

took the dog to the clinic 3 times in one week. The

vet treated him for a sore throat with antibiotics. He

was informed that the dog hadn't eaten or drank

anything in 3 days. The vet sent him home..he died

the next morning. What are my legal ri

Not much unless you could prove negligence on the part of the doctor. However, your recoverable damages would be minimal compared to the cost of litigation.

No such legal action exists for wrongful death of an animal. However, veterninarians are professional responsible for the administration of medical treatment just as doctors for humans. However, the measure of the damages for your pet would be the value of the animal and recovery for your emotional distress may be very difficult.
