Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas
Wrongfully charged in criminal court
I was falsely charged with ''terroristic threat'' by a woman whom I called on the phone in the presence of 3 witnesses. I asked her politely to have her husband to stop harassing and stalking my wife. She decided to have her friend, a detective in the police dept, file criminal charges on me 3 DAYS later. She lied about what the conversation was about. Fortuneatly, I had witnesses. I had a crystal clear record until this. I have, not only spent monies on legals fees, but also, in the line of work I do, I DON'T get paid if I don't work. Therefore, I had lost wages. Also I spent a day in jail for the first time in my life. My family and I have gone through much grief and humiliation. My children still have nightmares. I have gone to court and my case is going to be dismissed and now I will have to pay for legal fees for expunsion. I'd like to know what legal rememdies can I pursue to not only get reimbursed for my lost wages and unnecessary legal expenses, but also to file charges on this woman for wrongful arrest and harassment. I appreciate your assistance with my question.
Thanks.

Re: Wrongfully charged in criminal court
After your criminal charges are dismissed, you'll want to find an attorney that will handle an "Abuse of Process" case.
You might also touch bases with the District Attorney about filing charges against the woman for making a false charge.
