Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas
I wrote a promissory note to my xboyfriend for a loan in Dec. The note stated that I would pay him by the end of Feb. It was not stated in the note, but it was upon the refinancing of my house which has not occured. I have made 1 payment to him for $100. He is now threatening to take me to court if the remainder is not paid in full by the end of Feb. If I am making an effort to make him payments is he able to do this?

You shouldn't worry much about him suing you for this debt. And if he does sue you, and he gets a judgment, you shouldn't worry much about him collecting on the judgment (which is an entirely separate matter from GETTING the judgment).
Out of 100 "I'll sue you" threats, only 1 will actually result in a lawsuit.
