Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

thank you,

i'm matt, x-roommate is britt, new roommate is tricia (my wife) and a friend that was all of ours is Lisa.

ok, i had ask my r/'m britt to move out. she neverpaid her share of the rent she never paid her share of the utilities. and i mean never in the 3 months she was there oh also she moved her sister in. bout a month before that her car broke down. we rented one that we were to pay 3rds on. well we only kept the car for two weeks because lisa said we could use her jeep that way i could save the money for downpayment. britt never paid. now she is saying she left her scanner in lisa's jeep but lisa's son cleaned out the jeep and was throwing away all the trash that britt left in her car. lisa told her "i dont want eating in my car and dont leave anything in it cause i will through it away" this scanner is around a 800.00 scanner. She says she will loose her job if it is not returned. i have looked all over the house, when brit moved out she had 2 other people helping her and she said she took everything she needed. wouldnt that be on the top of her list. anyway she has threated me threated tricia that if she didnt get it back she was going to kick her ass. mind you my wife is pregnant. brit knows this. i have told her over and over i dont have her scanner. know she says she is going to take me to court. Can she do this.

Threats to "take someone to court" are a lot easier than actually doing it, which cost money, with or without an attorney. No good attorney would take the case because there is not enough money involved. Don't lose sleep over it. She is probably bluffing and it will never happen. If it does, it does, and you can worry about it then.
