Legal Question in Health Care Law in Texas
My wife is estranged from her biological family due to significant abuse during her childhood. However, we have been forced to contact them to find out some specifics concerning medical history. My wife has been diagnosed with a significant disease and cannot receive a potentially vital treatment until family history is confirmed. Her family has been uncooperative and genetic testing will not reveal the needed information. Is there any possibility of us legally gaining access to the information we need?
Thanks

I am an Austin Trial Lawyer.
You should consult with a lawyer about your options. You may be able to file a civil suit against your wife's family and compel discovery of the needed information. This certainly is not a typical case, so it may take some creative thinking.
Good Luck!
