Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
adoption and dual nationality
I am currently in the process of adopting my step-daughter. She is a US citizen, as is my wife. I am a British citizen, US permanent resident. We have a son that was born here, he is obviously a US citizen but he also can claim British citizenship because of me. The US & UK both allow dual citizenship. My question is: upon completion of the adoption, I understand my name will be on my daughter's birth certificate. Therefore, would she also be able to claim dual nationality, due to her adoptive father?
Thanks.

Re: adoption and dual nationality
You would actually need to pose this question to a UK lawyer. Texas or US law is not at issue, since she is a US citizen.
