advance parole
i want to go home on an advance parole, i'm adjusting my status and was never out of status.does leaving the states temporarily affect my adjustment

The answer to your question really depends on what type of visa you possess. Currently, only H and L visa holders can travel during adjustment of status without getting advance parole first. If you have another type of visa (such as a tourist visa) you will not be allowed to enter the U.S. without advance parole and will have to obtain your immigrant visa abroad.
