Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

I am an American Citizen living in Austin Texas and 5 years ago met and fell in love with an illegal immigrant from Honduras. Granted he did come here illegally, what steps can we now take so that we may get married and he may become a legal citizen?

You'll likely want to get married to him and then apply for his permanent residence.

Please keep in mind that if he entered the US illegally and has been here illegally for more than 6 months, then he'll need to go through the I-601 waiver process.
