Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

"Name Change"

I applied for dual-citizenship (Italy) I am American

have corrected spelling of (maiden) surname on all papers needed.

except: marriage application& license

in beaumont, texas it can not be changed

I have to have "afficavit to amend official document"

what is that? is there a document I can use to satisfy the requirment of name spelling correction , not being able to correct these 2 items.

Texas corrected my birth cert. my dad death cert. ect.

Just need something to satisfy that requirment

You have a Texas problem and I'm in Florida so what I have to say might not apply. I suspect there is a way to have your marriage application corrected but it involves filing an affidavit setting out the correct information. Since they have a special name for the affidavit my guess is that the procedure for correcting a marriage document is outlined in the statutes relating to marriage. So check the statute, see if it's there, and if it's not, go see a Texas lawyer. Good luck.
