Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
U.S. Citizenship for Australian
Hi. I have a friend whose working visa is soon to expire, so he is seeking another job that will sponsor him. I, however, would like to what he needs to do in order to become a U.S. citizen so he no longer has to be concerned about that. Please help asap. Thanks.

Re: U.S. Citizenship for Australian
First he has to become a legal permanent resident, after which he can acquire citizenship.
There are various paths to residency, but the two most common are to be sponsored by an employer -- strict conditions; or to marry a USC. Both require that the last entry have been a legal one (in most cases).
