Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

US Citizenship Requirements

I have completed 2 years of getting my US Green Card. I may have to leave the US for an international assignment in the next 2-3 months for 1-2 years. I was reading the US ctizenship requirements that says that one can qualify for US citizenship as long as one has stayed in the US for 30 months and has not been out of the US for more than 6 months during the 5 year period after getting the green card.

Based on the above, if we complete 30 months and come back to the US every 6 months until our 5 year period is over, can we apply for US citizenship?

Re: US Citizenship Requirements

Yes. There is some discretionary leeway regarding intent to remain in the US, however, generally speaking if you are physically present in the US every 6 months, your presence is continous. You must also have actual days on US soil to count towards your time, however.
