Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
Coming to America
I have a friend that was recently injured. She has some extensive injuries and I believe she should see an attorney. However, she is resistent to the idea and I suspect it has to do with her immigration status. I get the impression that she may not have permission to be in this country. Are her concerns warranted assuming that this is the cause of her anxiety. I mean could she be deported if she brought a lawsuit or filed a claim??? Is there something out there that would protect her pending resolution of her case??? I would appreciate any help you can offer.

Re: Coming to America
Legally she can not get into trouble for filing a claim...but opposing party can always call INS hotline...and get them on her back. Also...during Discovery...she will be obligated to provide certain information to the opposing party.
