Want to convert my J1 status into F1
I have a clause on my visa called section 212(E) & 2 yrs home residency required(HRR). But on my Ds-2019 it is stated that 2 yrs home residency not required. Any how I want to stay in U.S for further studies. Can I still convert my status into F1??what shall I do??

You need to figure out whether you really are subject to the 2-year home residence requirement. If the visa says that you are subject, then you probably are. In that case, you cannot change status in the US. You could possibly return to your home country to apply for an F-1 visa and return here in that status. You cannot get H or L status without completing the 2-year residence requirement or getting a waiver.
