Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
duration of stay outside usa
Hello
I am a permanent resident and i am going to get married in May of 08 after my marriage i am gonna be going to pakistan (citizen of pakistan) to stay with my inlaws for a little while so in the mean time my husband can complete his studies in UK , My question is how long can i stay outside of united states without creating any troubles in the way of getting my citizenship.
Another thing after staying in Pakistan when i come back how long do i have to stay in the states before i can return back to pakistan.
I would appreciate your response thanks .

Re: duration of stay outside usa
If you have not yet accumulated the 5 years of residency, post LPR, the each day that you are outside the US is subtracted from the time required. In any event, you should not be outside the US for more than six months.
