about extension of visa
my visa expired on january 2008 but am still doing my college study here . is there any way so that i can extend my visa for another 2 3 years??

Is this a student visa? If so, and you are still a full-time student, how did it expire? Did the school not notice? You are going to have to get this renewed, and you may have difficulty doing so. As you know the student visa is only D/S. You should hire an immigration lawyer to assist you.
Other visas have varying lengths -- none will be readily available since you have been out of status for more than 6 months, and most require that you return to your country to get it reissued, which would invoke a ban on your return.
