Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
Re: Family Question
My parents helped my exhusband get student loans before he was a permanent resident. The marriage ended, and my husband will not pay the loans. Can my parents have their name legal removed? The private loan organization is trying to collect from my parents. What can they do?

Re: Re: Family Question
When you say 'helped' it sounds like they either took out PLUS loans for his education, or they cosigned his loans. They are obligated on the loans, and cannot escape the liability simply because you and he split up. If the loans were cosigned, then they can sue him; if they were separate PLUS loans and can prove he agreed to repay them, then they can sue him.
