Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

Trying to help Father back into US after Felony and Deportation

My father was placed on probation for 10 years for child molestation. The probation period was over in 2000, but in 2001 he was deported. The child who claimed that she was molested has since come forward and confessed that no such events ever took place. This child was forced by her mother to make these accusations.

When my father was taken to Mexico, he tried crossing the border, but was caught and placed in prison for 5 years. He was released just a couple of months ago and taken back to Mexico.

We would like to do anything we can so he will be able to be with his family in the US. I am 26 years old and have been told that he may be able to be here legally if I sign for him. I have gathered all of the documents needed (such as baptism and school records, affidavits, etc) but am not sure where to go from here. I know this is a complicated process, but am willing to do whatever it takes.

My question would be - Since my father is now a felon, what process do we need to go through so he is able to be back in the US ?

We are looking for legal help in this matter.

First of all, why was he deported the first time? I assume he entered without a visa, correct?

Second, why was he imprisoned for five years?

Also, what happened with the molestation case? Did your father ever try to erase the conviction after the girl recanted her story?
