Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
green card
My father, who is married to my
mother in the USA, married another
women in China. Clearly, that
marriage is invalid; however, aside
from him being a cheater, he seems
to have gotten himself into
immigration trouble. He signed a
green card application as the chinese
lady's husband-which is clearly not!
What are the legal ramifications of
these actions?

Re: green card
Fraud, which the government may or may not prosecute.
Re: green card
Possibly a charge against him to commit fraud against the U.S. -- it depends on whether anyone complains and presses the charge. Aiding and abetting an illegal to enter the U.S. is another charge. Quite frankly, he should, if possible, withdraw the application immediately and maybe he can plead insanity or coercion regarding the marriage and the signing of the card! Good luck!
