Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
Green Card
My mom is a Canadian citizen, and an RN. Recently she has passed the NCLEX exam and is pursuing on moving to the United States. She will get a TN Visa to start off and then apply for a Green Card. Automatically my dad will get it because he is her spouse. However I don't know about my situation. I too am a Candian Citizen, and I'm a student here and I am 21 years old, unmarried. How can I come and live in the United States as well? Can I still be allowed a Green Card due to my mom?

Re: Green Card
As an adult, you cannot 'ride' on your mother's petition. After she legalizes, you can apply, but the category you would be in at that future date has a very long waiting list. You may want to explore other alternatives which may not be as long of a wait.
