green card renewal
Will having a civil judgement on my credit report for consumer debt affect the renewal of my green card and eventually becoming a US citizen? Does the CIS do credit checks?

Re: green card renewal
You should be fine. There are probably some rare instances when a credit check would be run, but simply being unable to pay a bill will not affect your immigration status. (Take care of child support, IRS and school loans).
