Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
H1-B Visa & freelance projects
Hi, I am in Texas. I have a valid H1-B visa and a permanent job. I was wondering if i can do some freelance projects on the side - apart from my main job. Does my visa allow this? what do i need to do in case my visa restricts?

Re: H1-B Visa & freelance projects
You can only be employed by your H1B employer. Be careful to not violate the terms of your employment contract. Immigration restricts employment, but not income per-se. Example: You are employed by a newspaper as a reporter under an H1B. While employed you write a book on the weekends and sell it. As long as you have not violated the terms of your employment contract, you have not violated your H1B visa.
