Yes VAWA is equally for a man or woman.

The abuse can be mental or physical or both. Holding ones immigration against them is considered a form of abuse. The most important thing for a VAWA claim is your affidavit and the Attorney's support letter.

A man may file a VAWA petition if there has been abuse in a marriage to a U.S. Citizen or Lawful permanent resident. If there has been psychological abuse you will need to get a psychological evaluation. You will need to do a full consultation with an experienced immigration attorney to evaluate whether you have a strong VAWA claim. If you would like to discuss this matter further please feel free to contact me at 415-273-9123 or [email protected].
