Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
Hi,
My wife is in USA on L2 Visa. We are from India. My wife wants to change the name after marriage which was 3 months before. She wants to change the Surname. We have inquired the name change procedure through Indian embassy. If we do the name change, her name on the passport will have the new name but the VISA & I94.
Will that be an issue in having the older name on the VISA & I94? or as soon as the name gets changed on the VISA, does she has to go for new filing for VISA ?

New name of passport after marriage and old name on VISA and I-94 that predate the marriage present no problem. The validity of the L2 if it was not the marrige mat present some problem.
