Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
Can an Illegal Immigrant Apply for Citizenship after paying taxes for 5 years?
Rena is an illegal immigrant. She cleans houses for a living. She recently mentioned that she has learnt that she pays taxes for 5 years then shell be eligible for applying for a citizenship. The IRS gave her a tax id number and shes paid her taxes for 2006. Is it true that she will be eligible for citizenship after 5 years?

No.
And if she announces her presence to USCIS, as an illegal immigrant, they will have no alternative but to put her in removal proceedings.
She needs to consult with a reputable immigration lawyer. She may or may not have any options, depending upon her entry, country of origin, family members, skills, etc.
