Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

Immagration law

My fiancee has been in county jail since 01/04/2009 for failure to I.D. and hitting a fence with his truck. His bond has been set at $4000.00 and has immagration hold. Both are mistermenor charges. What can I do for him? I was told to go ahead and marry him now while in jail and file his paper work in San Antonio, Tx so he could be releaded and not deported. Is this true? What is the time line on this type of case?

Re: Immagration law

I strongly urge you to get a lawyer before you do anything else. He needs to represented both on the criminal charges and his immigration status. The criminal cases affect his status, and his immigration situation needs to be resolved before the hold will be lifted. You also need to act fairly quickly.
