Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

If the new law goes through.....

With the talk of doing new things immigration, if I want to marry my boyfriend who is not from the USA can he still get papers through me or would that new law void that from happening?

If you are an American citizen, and he crossed the border legally, then marry and petition for him now, before there are any changes. If he crossed illegally, you cannot petition for him anyway, so you may want to wait and see if this bill, or any bill, passes both houses of Congress.

I would need to obtain some more information from you before I could tell you the exact procedure for filing papers for your boyfriend. The proposed laws, however, would not impact the way in which a U.S. citizen would petition for their spouse.
