Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
i am still legally married to an illegal and am a U.S. citizen but have been separated from him for 5 years now...we have 3 daughters together and he recently got detained by ICE due to a pending deportation order...what options does he have to remain in the country without me petitioning for him since I do not wish to live with him.?

That would depend on the reasons for detention, and if other options are open to him in any other category. It would also depend on the legality of the original entry, or if it was an overstay. Generally speaking, his odds of staying here without your petition drop dramatically.
