Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

LPR granted by court, not USCIS

How is the process of receiving an LPR card different if residency was granted by an immigration court, versus USCIS? I have not received my card yet, and my residency was granted two months ago by court order.

Thank you.

Re: LPR granted by court, not USCIS

In this jurisdiction, the court orders USCIS to issue the LPR. It is then their obligation to process the paperwork and issue the card. You can contact the court staff and inquire about the status, however, they will probably refer you to USCIS. Two months is not an unusual length of time to wait. Until the card arrives, a certified copy of the court order will suffice to establish your residency.
