Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

Married and ICE still took my husband

My husband came to this country on a Waiver Visa and then applied for a Asslym. It was denied. His old laywer told him not to worry and that he was going to appeal it and the lawyer never showed up for court and never told my husband about the court date. The order of removal was put on him in 2004 and we were married 2005 and a few days ago ICE came to pick him up. We didn`t even know anything about this. The lawyer told him it was done and everything was fine.He has had a job for the whole time he was here, we bought a car, and an apartment in both of our names. How can this be? Well we just found out that the lawyer left the country and has done this to hundreds of people. What can i do to get my husband back from the detention center? please help

Re: Married and ICE still took my husband

I am very sorry about the bad advice you have received. Obviously, he needs an attorney immediately. He 'might' be able to avoid removal, and he 'might' be able to get residency. Your email prompts many more questions, especially if you are a USC, and if you ever filed for him. Also do you know if an appeal was ever filed? How long has he been in the United States? You can email me directly.
