Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

Marrying greencard

I had 3 original criminal cases out of which 2 were initially dismissed to be refilled; and because of that, it became 5 different court cases. I had trial on 2 of those cases and I was found NOT GUILTY and other 3 cases were DISMISSED without any sentencing or anything. I was arrested 2 times. I never had any probation, community service or parole. All the charges were either Class ''A'' or ''C'' misdemeanor.

Now, I am planning on getting married to a U.S. citizen, would it effect anything in the process for me to get a green card; as I was never found guilty or anything of that nature.

Re: Marrying greencard

It should not defeat your petition for a green card, however, it will probably cause it to be investigated to confirm the dispositions. You should have an immigration attorney file your petition to confirm that it is properly prepared. You will also need certified copies of the cases, primarily the dispositions.
