Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
Can i be a permanent resident?
I am on a student visa. I have just turned 18 on november 2008. When i came to the U.S. i was 17 years old. I have heard that there has been a bill passed at congress for immigrants who would be legalized for six years if they were minors at the time of entry. And this condition states that either the immigrant should serve in Army for two years or should be attending college.
My question is: I was minor at the time of entry so will the government make me a permanent resident??

Your are referring to the DREAM Act, which has not yet been passed by Congress. For more information about the proposed provisions of the act, see here: http://martinvisalaw.blogspot.com/search/label/DREAM%20Act
