police called to our house but no action taken

I am a legal permanent resident married to a US citizen. Next year I will be eligible to apply for naturalization. Two years ago, the police arrived at our house after being called there by a nosy neighbor, who claimed she heard a gun shot. My wife and I had had an argument, but it was blown out of all proportion by the neighbor. I explained to the police at the time that there was no gun shot, there are no guns in the house. Later on, we figured out the neighbor had heard the metal shed door close after I had slammed it shut. Anyway, I wasn't arrested, no charges were filed and the police left after we explained there was a misunderstanding. No further action was taken.

I hope my naturalization application would not be affected by this?

It shouldn't be affected. To be on the safe side, you might want to check with the local police and verify that there is no criminal record of the event. Even though it does not stop your application process, it might be necessary to attach a copy of the police report (if any) to establish credibility.
