Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
Removal of Conditional Status
My friend and her husband submitted paperwork to remove his conditional status in March (in Houston) and still have not received any official notice other than a letter saying that his paperwork was transfered and a biometric appt letter that was stamped when he arrived and was told to keep as a receipt. I will soon be filing the same paperwork (in Dallas) and am wondering how would our husbands protect themselves from being hassled/arrested regarding their status if they have no official receipt documenting that their status has been extended? How would they legally travel back home? Be able to work?

Re: Removal of Conditional Status
I am unsure about the meaning of your question. They should not leave the country while this process is pending. They are legal residents, and their status remains so unless it is revoked or they are issued a notice to show cause.
