Student Immigrant sponsorship

How can I find out how to help a student who has lived in TX all of her life but is not a US citizen obtain citizenship or qualify to apply for scholorships ? She is 17 and a terrific student. Can I sponsor her - or how would that work? Many, many thanks!

It depends. Does this student have a green card? If not, then how did she enter the United States? Please e-mail me back with your reply and I will try to help.
