Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
Does USCIS do credit checks when processing applications?
I have a credit card in the UK that I defaulted on shortly after arriving in the US. I am now on a payment plan with them. I will be applying for naturalization next year. I am wondering if this will affect my application? Does the USCIS do credit checks either here or in the country of origin of the applicant?
Thanks!

Maybe, probably not, but it doesn't matter. A civil debt will not prevent, and should not even affect, naturalization.
