Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

visa revoked after adjustment of status filing

i was granted a 3 year T-visa which expired Sept, 2008. In 2007, i received an intent to revoke my visa. I filed an answer to the intent and ddnt receive a reply until Dec 16, 2008. I already filed an adjustment of status prior to the expiration of my visa and since i ddnt get a reply then. My EAD also expired with my visa. I'm currently working as teacher and about to get married too. What are my options?

Pl. see a practicing Immigration Attorney immediately.

Appeal or filing of motion for reconsideration/motion to reopen is necessary. You did not state the basis of the intent to revoke.

Getting married for the good reason may in addition provide you with good option.

Re: visa revoked after adjustment of status filing

You have immediate concerns, but you also have some options available to you. Because of the deadlines involved, you really should hire a lawyer immediately. You may need to take a leave of absence until this gets straightened out. You do not explain when or on what basis your adjustment of status was filed, no the current status of that application. If your upcoming (soon, I hope) nuptials are to a USC, then you may have relief. Take a copy of ALL of your paperwork, and meet with a lawyer.
