Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas
Accident liability due to vehicle title not being registered in new owners name.
I have an insurance company demanding payment for a hit and run accident that
was committed by someone who purchased my truck over a year ago and did
not change the title over to his name. I provided a copy of a cancelled check to
the sheriff's department as proof of the sale. The case is still under
investigation but I was told it wasn't my problem any more. I also provided the
information to the insurance agent handling the claim. How should I respond?

Respond to what? You've already given evidence of the check. Don't do anything else until asked for it.
