Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas
Additional Living Expense
In Texas, I have a HOA+ homeowner policy and my house was damaged in Hurricane Ike. My house was not deemed unlivable but due to health of my 14 yr old daughter, my husband and I rented a RCV for $2,000/mo. Now my insurance adjuster has indicated since the house was not deemed unlivable, the insurance company would not consider payment for the RCV which we have been in since October. He claims that if house had been unlivable, we still would have had to rent RCV from an authorized dealer and not an individual? Is any of this true because he could not show me this in our policy?
