Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas

Auto accident lawsuit

I was involved in an at-fault auto accident in August of 2005. I was driving my father's vehicle at the time, with his permission. I did not live with my father so this was a once in a while kind of thing. My father's insurance paid for the vehicle and my medical bills. The other driver was not insured and is now bringing a lawsuit seeking lost wages and medical bills. I'm no longer with that same insurance company, so are they still responsible if any type of payout is needed? Does the other party even have a liable case, knowing that they didn't have insurance? Should I seek legal counseling or hire an attorney?

Re: Auto accident lawsuit

Turn it into the insurance company your father had at the time of the accident...If you are served..take the lawsuit to that insurer/...most lawyers try to negotiate a settlement before filing a lawsuit...and one does not have to carry insurance to sue someone else for hurting them...
